Tues, Feb 7th-String Quilting-6-8:30pm

Regular price $30.00 Sale

Where are my scrappy folks at? This is the class you need to make use of your long skinny scraps! Lois Foster will be teaching the string quilting technique which uses a foundation (newsprint, etc.) as a starting point to make some gloriously colorful scrappy blocks!

This class is appropriate for the confident beginner.

What you need to bring/purchase prior to class:

Basic sewing supplies-thread for piecing, thread snips, scissor and/or rotary cutter and small mat, pins, fabric marking tool, small acrylic ruler.

Fabric scraps at least 13" long. Completed blocks will be 12.5 inches when finished, so this gives you some wiggle room.

Depending on how particular you want to be with the final look of your quilt will determine how long it takes for you to choose the fabric scraps for your individual blocks. You can expect to complete at least a block during the class session and maybe more if you are speedy!

If you want to use scraps, but want a cohesive look by having the same center strip on each block, you can also bring 1/2 to 1 yard of a solid fabric to tie everything together. Totally up to you!

1st 2 pics are what your individual blocks will look like and the 3rd pic shows what a final project could be.

What is provided:

Newsprint squares

Cost of class: $30
