Are you thinking of getting into quilting, but have absolutely no idea where to start? We'll go over all the basics in this class and make a simple project while we're at it!

Supplies needed:

Basic sewing supplies-Thread to match your project, scissors, pins, fabric marking tool.

For potholder:

  • (9) 3" squares of cotton fabric for the top piece
  • (1) 8½" square of cotton fabric for the bottom piece
  • (1) 2½ × 42" strip of fabric for binding

Finished size: 7"

These supplies will be demonstrated and are what I would recommend to a beginning quilter, but you may use the shop supplies for this class and purchase later if you decide to pursue this hobby:

Self-healing cutting mat (the biggest you have space and budget for)

Rotary cutter (45mm is a good starting size)

Acrylic ruler (3" x 18" is a good starting point)

Included with Class Fee:  

  • (1) 8½" square of insulated batting (it's a silver color and usually called Insul-bright or Insul Fleece)
  • (2) 8½" squares of cotton batting 
  • Printed instruction sheet
