Simple Skirt, Thurs, Oct 15th 6-8:30pm
A few of you have been asking about doing a simple skirt. I found this tutorial on Pinterest that looks like just the ticket for a fast, simple skirt. If you end up liking it, you could whip out an entire wardrobe's worth pretty quickly. This tutorial can be modified based on height and waist measurements, so can be for big, small, short, and tall!
What you need to bring/purchase prior to class:
One yard of 55-60 inch wide fabric that’s soft and drapey. This could be a jersey knit, rayon, or a variety of fabrics. You want some stretch and for it to be comfy. Stitch carries a few knits, but you will likely want to do some browsing and bring this with you.
You will also want to wash and dry your fabric per the instructions. It is important when constructing garments to launder your fabric the same way which you will normally launder it to prevent shrinking after construction.
Elastic (1 to 1.5 inches wide) an inch shorter than your waist measurement. Most prepackaged elastic is 3 yards, so that will definitely be sufficient for a couple skirts or more.
Thread to match.
Basic sewing supplies (shears, rotary cutter if you prefer, pins, marking pencil or chalk)
Cost of class=$25 which includes instruction to complete project.
