Giant Dresden Christmas Tree Skirt-3 Part Class, NOV 1st, 6th, & 20th 6-8:30pm
This amazingly fun pattern by Carrie Actually is a great project if you have a fun, colorful tree and are in love with all of the gorgeous selection of Christmas fabrics that are available. In this 3 part series, you will cut, piece, quilt, and bind your skirt. This skirt is 54" in diameter when completed, so it is GIANT as the name states.
This class is appropriate for the advanced beginner. There may be some homework sewing required between classes to complete in the 3 allotted sessions.
What you need to bring/purchase prior to class:
Print Giant Dresden Christmas Tree Skirt Pattern-once you register, I will purchase the pattern to be sent to your email.
Basic sewing supplies: Shears, pins, pincushion, rotary cutter, chalk or marking pen
Fabric: There are a variety of combinations and cuts that the pattern describes, so please refer to your download for fabric requirements. It really depends on how "matchy" or "patchy" you want it. The total amount required for the top is approximately 2 1/2 yds to give you an idea.
Batting: 60" x 60" (Throw size or larger) I recommend using 100% cotton batting. This is available at Stitch for purchase.
Backing Fabric: 3 yds non-directional OR 4 yds of 1- or 2-directional print
Binding Fabric: 1 yd
